Inspirations and just A Bit of Bucks County…online
The light sweet lovely fragrance and delicate bell shapes of the “May Lily” is a favorite of Bride’s and Weddings, and Lily of the Valley is May’s official birthday flower. Monks were said to call this flower “ladder of heaven” for the delicate bell shapes flowers that climb the stem.
Native to Great Britain, Lily of the Valley is a perennial, universal favorite. Recorded by Thomas Jefferson in Monticello as early as 1771, Lily of the Valley would become an important florist flower, and was said to be a favorite of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Gathered from the Royal Estates, the main flower of the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton’s bridal bouquet was made from Lily of the Valley.
